From one mom to another

Bored with schoolwork? So were my girls.

So I made learning fun again, and built it right into their favorite website.

Hi, I’m Shayla: a wife, a mom of three, a woman of faith, and a teacher at heart. I’m a Texas-certified educator who has taught English, Social Studies, AVID Excel for bilingual students, Child Development, and Education & Training. I’ve written curriculum for my district, and in 2021 my students placed at the Educators Rising National Conference: 1st in Public Speaking, 1st in Interactive Bulletin Board, and 2nd in Children’s Literature. Since then, I’ve designed learning for schools, universities, companies, government agencies, and utilities in the U.S., and K–12 learning for schools in Australia.

In every classroom and training room, I’ve learned one thing: people learn best when they feel like a part of the learning. That’s why I made GC Academy for girls like my daughters. I know what they love, and I needed them to love learning too.

But at home, I was just a mom watching my girls, Mila and Mati, sigh over worksheets. I kept asking myself: How do I help my babies love learning and set them up for success? The early school years are the foundation everything else is built on, and I didn’t want boredom to be what they remembered.

Like you, I wear many hats. I’m raising three kids: Mila and Mati, and our toddler son, Mace, who keeps all of us on our toes. I get it, moms: we have a lot on our hands! I know how hard it is to juggle the weight of the world while still helping our children grow and succeed. And I saw a gap: my kids needed extra support that actually appealed to them, practice that didn’t feel like learning, even though it absolutely was.

So I built GC Academy: bright, playful, and full of the same proven teaching I used in the classroom. My girls loved it so much that I knew I had to share it with your family.

Our faith is the heart of our home, so I wanted a place where my children could learn and have fun while still learning about God. That’s why I made GC Bible Study, a free place for kids to grow in faith with a daily Bible verse, Bible stories, fun facts, and acts of kindness.

This isn’t just another lesson app. It’s how we help kids feel confident, curious, and proud of how they’re growing. Think of me as your friend in this, here to help fill that gap for your family too. Try GC Club for a month and see the difference for yourself.
With love, Shayla
